Nothing in this policy limits any rights available to customers under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other applicable South African law.

1.2 Statutory warranty

Products sold to consumers are covered by the implied warranty of quality provided by the Consumer Protection Act.

For six months after delivery, a consumer may return goods that are unsafe, defective, not of acceptable quality or not reasonably suitable for their ordinary purpose. Subject to the Act, the consumer may choose to have the goods repaired, replaced or refunded.

Where a product is repaired and the same or a further defect occurs within three months after the repair, the consumer may be entitled to a replacement or refund.

Any additional manufacturer warranty will apply for the period and on the conditions specified by the relevant manufacturer.

1.3 What may qualify as a valid warranty claim

A claim may qualify where a wheel or related product:

  • Has a manufacturing or structural defect.
  • Was supplied in the incorrect size, PCD, offset, centre bore, finish or specification compared with the confirmed order.
  • Was damaged before or during delivery.
  • Does not reasonably perform as represented on the product page.
  • Is unsuitable for a particular purpose that the customer clearly communicated to Wheels Warehouse before purchase and for which Wheels Warehouse provided a written recommendation.

1.4 Warranty exclusions

A warranty claim may be rejected where the damage or problem was caused by:

  • Potholes, kerbs, road debris, collisions or other impact damage.
  • Incorrect installation, tyre mounting, balancing or wheel alignment.
  • Incorrect wheel nuts, bolts, spacers, adapters or hub-centric rings.
  • Incorrect tightening sequence or wheel-nut torque.
  • Use on a vehicle for which the wheel was not designed or approved.
  • Overloading, racing, drifting, competition use or severe off-road use.
  • Driving with an underinflated, damaged or unsuitable tyre.
  • Modifying, welding, machining, drilling, straightening or repainting the wheel.
  • Corrosive chemicals, acid-based wheel cleaners, salt, harsh detergents or improper cleaning.
  • Normal wear and tear, stone chips, scratches or cosmetic deterioration.
  • Damage caused after delivery by the customer, installer, courier appointed by the customer or another third party.
  • Continued use after a crack, vibration, air leak or other problem became apparent.

These exclusions do not apply where the exclusion would unlawfully remove a consumer’s statutory rights.

1.5 Fitment responsibility

Customers must verify the following before fitting a wheel:

  • Wheel diameter and width.
  • PCD or bolt pattern.
  • Offset.
  • Centre bore.
  • Load rating.
  • Brake and suspension clearance.
  • Tyre size.
  • Vehicle make, model, year and variant.

Online vehicle descriptions are general fitment guidance. Vehicle specifications may differ between models, years and modifications.

Where Wheels Warehouse provides a written fitment recommendation based on complete and accurate vehicle information supplied by the customer, Wheels Warehouse will address an incorrect recommendation in accordance with applicable law.

Where the customer independently selects an incorrect product, return delivery, collection and exchange expenses may be charged to the customer.

1.6 Installation requirements

Products should be installed by a reputable and suitably experienced wheel-and-tyre fitment centre.

The installer must inspect the wheels before mounting tyres and must confirm brake, suspension, hub, bolt and body clearance before the vehicle is driven.

Customers should retain the fitment invoice because it may be requested during an assessment.

1.7 Submitting a claim

Send the following information to [CLAIMS EMAIL OR WHATSAPP NUMBER]:

  1. Customer’s full name.
  2. Order number and purchase date.
  3. Product name and quantity affected.
  4. Vehicle make, model, year and variant.
  5. Clear photographs of the complete product.
  6. Close-up photographs or video of the alleged defect.
  7. Photographs of the inside and outside wheel markings.
  8. Description of when and how the problem occurred.
  9. Fitment invoice or installer’s report, where relevant.
  10. Any other evidence reasonably required to assess the claim.

For visibly damaged or incorrect deliveries, customers should notify Wheels Warehouse as soon as possible, preferably within 48 hours. This assists with courier investigations but does not remove rights provided by law.

1.8 Inspection and assessment

Wheels Warehouse may require the product to be returned for inspection before approving a repair, replacement or refund.

The product must not be repaired, modified, repainted or discarded before the claim is assessed.

Assessment may be conducted by Wheels Warehouse, the manufacturer, distributor or an independent specialist. Assessment times depend on the nature of the claim and availability of technical information.

Where a valid claim is confirmed, reasonable return or collection costs will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law.

1.9 Consequential expenses

Unless required by law or agreed to in writing, Wheels Warehouse does not automatically reimburse unrelated expenses such as vehicle hire, loss of income, downtime, towing, storage, alignment, balancing or tyre removal and refitting.

Nothing in this clause excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability arising from gross negligence or unsafe or defective goods.
